Yamaha Advanced Riding School returns to Qatar
After the success of the first event held in January,
the Yamaha Advanced Riding School returned to Qatar for its second edition.
In the last week of February a dozen of Yamaha racing fans from all over
Europe flew over to Qatar for almost a week where they enjoyed an intensive
four day experience and were Yamaha’s VIP guests at the first World Superbike
round (WSB) held at the Losail circuit on February 25th
After a leisure day spent relaxing on the beach and on a wild 4x4 desert
safari, all participants went to the Losail circuit for the WSB race.
Starting the day with a pit tour, the Racing fans got up close and personal
with the real deals factory riders Andrew Pitt and Noriyuki Haga.
Their real two-wheeled action started early on day 3 when the riders were
briefed by Yamaha’s chief instructor, and then the first group were straight
out on the circuit on the all-new Yamaha R6 – widely regarded as the ultimate
600 supersport, and an ideal track machine for riders of all abilities.
Joining the professional instructors were Yamaha's Chief Test Rider Jeffry de
Vries, as well as Jason Griffiths, one of today's top Isle of Man TT racers.
As well as evaluating individual riders and advising them on their strong and
weak points, Jeffry and Jason gave some impressive demonstrations of high
speed cornering techniques on the Losail circuit's notorious turn seven.

I learnt more about my riding in two days than I have for the past 10 years.
I cannot believe how much better I feel on the bike.”

four events.
