2-Nitropropane can affect you when breathed in and by
passing through your skin.
* 2-Nitropropane is a CARCINOGEN--HANDLE WITH
EXTREME CAUTION.
* Exposure to 2-Nitropropane can irritate the eyes, nose
and throat.
* Breathing 2-Nitropropane can irritate the lungs causing
coughing and/or shortness of breath. Higher exposures
can cause a build-up of fluid in the lungs (pulmonary
edema), a medical emergency, with severe shortness of
breath.
* Exposure can cause headache, dizziness, nausea,
vomiting, and diarrhea.
* Exposure may interfere with the ability of the blood to
carry oxygen causing headache, dizziness and a bluish
color to the skin and lips (methemoglobinemia). Higher
levels can cause trouble breathing, collapse and even
death.
* 2-Nitropropane may damage the kidneys, liver and
nervous system.
* 2-Nitropropane is a FLAMMABLE LIQUID and a FIRE
HAZARD.
