你到最下面有關International driving permits
第一段就寫 "The State of California does not recognize an International
Driving Permit (IDP) as a valid driver license.does recognize a valid
driver license that is issued by a foreign jurisdiction
(country, state, territory) of which the license holder is a resident."
如果是只是做短暫停留用你原有的駕照即可

台灣駕照是一定要帶, 我有一次去租車, 櫃台小姐就跟我要台灣駕照,
而且沒有的話, 她拒絕租給我, 她說那是法律規定的, 她說國際駕照
還不一定要就是了. 另外, 想要在當地開車, 當然就要搞懂當地交通
規則, Full stop 就要 Full stop, 頓一下就走就不算 Full stop啦,
被抓也沒話講. 我有一個朋友被抓的更誇張, 她只是後車燈罩破掉,
燈還會亮, 就被開單, 她也只能自認倒楣呀.
不過話講回來, 會被攔下的機會也不會很多啦, 除非你運氣不好吧!!
